G-Mail
February 9th, 2007 by GrandmaBettyA few months ago my grandson David, 17 years old, suggested I change my webmail service to G-mail. Let me explain: David, grandma’s ‘computer wiz’, is webmaster of GrandmaBetty.com along with his dad, my son Marty.
David also has his own websites, orangefoxgames.com and webivia.com. As if that’s not enough along with school and his after-school activities, he creates websites for others as a sideline.
A recommendation from David is for me “A Done Deal!”
I immediately said “OK, Let’s Go, G-Mail!”
Thank you, David! I’m so glad I listened - I love using G-mail. It’s Google’s free e-mail service, easy to use and efficient with many advantages. There are no pop-ups or untargeted banners and 2600 megabytes in archive storage which insure that no messages are ever lost or displaced.
One of my favorite G-mail features is the “Spam” filter which groups spam messages, eliminating the tiresome and time-consuming task of sifting through all mail. One click of the ‘Delete Spam’ button is all it takes to rid the screen of junk.
The conversation grouping of e-mails is another great feature making it easy and efficient to follow e-mail exchanges and conversations.
The ‘monthly’calendar’ on the site is a wonderful way to organize and keep track of daily activities.
I also like the fact that I can now access my e-mails from any computer.
G-mail offers other interesting innovations such as integrated instant messaging, posting photos and chat messaging.
So, if you’re looking for a new webmail service - why not listen to David’s suggestion to his GrandmaBetty - and - Go Google G-Mail!
